Join the Mosaic community for its second Love Feast celebration! The Love Feast includes a time of simple, musical worship and Scripture reading as well as footwashing, a community meal, and communion.

S.O.A.P. Journaling is a great way to dive into the Bible, learn more about it, learn how to apply it in life and be able to share God’s Word in practical ways. This type of journaling is helpful for those who are not already in a regular Bible reading program as well as for those who are but who want to go deeper or get more out of their regular readings. SOAP is simple, practical, AND something that is easily teachable to others.

Revisiting the Mountain: Week 3 – “Assault and Light” Matthew 5:13-16

How can you be salt and light in the world this week for $5 or less?

That was the challenge given to the Mosaic community during the message on Matthew 5:13-16 entitled, “Assault and Light.” During the message we learned more about what Jesus meant when He called His disciples salt and light. They were not called to assault culture (in the sense of attacking others with the gospel, etc.) but to bring life, preservation and the very life of Jesus to the world around them. On February 12th, the Mosaic community discussed and learned about the Beatitudes. So much more could have been said! What did Jesus mean when He said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit”? What about those who “hunger and thirst for righteousness”? Are these merely BE ATTITUDES (meaning, attitudes we should have as Christians) or are they more than that? Jesus seemed to be speaking about a life of action and intention when he shared with His disciples what their lives should look like.

The Sermon on the Mount: Revisiting the Mountain

We are starting a series on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), on Saturday, February 8th, entitled “Revisiting the Mountain.” So many of Jesus’ famous statements come from these chapters of the Bible. ”Blessed are the poor in spirit,” “You are the light of the world,” “You have heard that it was said…but I say to you…,” “Love your enemies.” Many questions may arise when we read these, and many of the other, of Jesus’ sayings in the Sermon on the Mount. Hopefully, through this series, you will get some answers and learn how to put Jesus’ teachings into practice in your life.

Discussion on Persecution-Past and Present

Mosaic had a great time of discussion on 1/29/2011 talking about about persecution and the work of the Holy Spirit in the Church. Bob shared about various accounts of Christians from the earliest centuries of the Church giving their lives for their faith in Christ. The question was asked, “Who do you know, that was famous, who died 80 years ago that you would give your life for?” The point was that we probably don’t know of anyone famous who died in the 1930s (or thereabouts) but Christians in, say, A.D. 110, were being murdered (in extremely cruel ways) for their faith in Christ who had died roughly 80 years prior. Wow!

Mosaic discusses “The Case for Faith”

Over the past two weeks we have watched the video, “The Case for Faith” by Lee Strobel at the Mosaic Saturday night service. The video highlights and attempts to answer some of the questions and doubts which are raised concerning a belief in God, salvation in Jesus Christ, and problems of faith in the face of evil and suffering in the world.

On Saturday, January 22nd, we are going to set aside time to discuss the video during the Mosaic service. Bring your questions and thoughts with you as we talk about the issues, questions, and objections together.
